DESCRIPTION: The PGM-2L is truly a lightweight portable monitoring
system which consists of a moisture resistant BGO* scintillation
probe 5/8" in diameter and up to a 40 foot cable.
The readout for this system is a Model PRS-5 Ratemeter/Scaler
which includes three single channel switch selectable analyzers.
The ten inch long probe contains a sensitive/rugged photo-multiplier,
dynode resister string, and a 1/2"
x 2" BGO scintillation crystal.


APPLICATION: This system is extremely useful for location
or movement of underground radioactivity by use of pipes
driven into the formation.
