The Models LIM-19 and LIM-20 Laundry Inspection Monitors are simplified, low-cost instruments for monitoring clothing and equipment worn in Beta/Gamma contaminated areas. Before being sent from the use area or after being washed and prior to re-issue, the material is passed through the monitoring frame where it is scanned by six lead-shielded detectors (LIM-19) or eight lead-shielded detectors (LIM-20). Laundry material having residual contamination in excess of permissible preset level will cause an immediate alarm. Model LIM-19 is a single channel unit which feeds information from each of the six detectors to a separate readout and alarm. A TA Model P-10 Hand Probe is standard equipment with the monitors for the purpose of localizing detected contamination.

Note: Monitors of other fixed or variable yoke configurations or sensitivities are also available. For example, use of large crystal scintillators and/or zero suppress may be incorporated to increase sensitivity. Low Gamma Energy Thin Detector Scintillators plus Single Channel Analyzers may be incorporated to monitor for SNM or other low gamma energy nuclides.
