APPLICATION: The FM-5XE Monitor
is becoming a standard safety instrument at all facilities where Xe-133
(m) is used.
DESCRIPTION: Model FM-5XE Xenon
Monitor determines xenon content of air by drawing the air through
a gas chamber which is under constant surveillance by a radiation
detector. It is normally supplied with a three foot outlet and inlet
hose so that it may draw air from the use area, duct, etc. In addition
to showing the xenon content on the meter, it furnishes permanent
record in the form of a strip chart. An alarm is included which produces
a red flashing light and/or 2,000 Hz (beep) should the preset level
be exceeded. The meter and strip chart record are in log form so that
they cover a dynamic range of 10,000 - 1 with no
range switching.
